intentionalcommGood business communication is intentional communication.

Just ask yourself: Does what and how I communicate reflect the level of professionalism with which I want to represent myself, my department, and my company?

Positive Coaching Group offers two ways to help you develop your communication skills and enhance your overall effectiveness, in personal conversations, small work groups, and even in large presentations. Our workshop, Intentional Communications, is described below.

We also offer personal, one-on-one coaching, including on-camera coaching and feedback. There is almost nothing more powerful than getting immediate visual feedback and being able to practice corrective behaviors in a dynamic video environment.

Intentional Communication Workshop
In any professional or business setting, it is important to pay close attention to what you are communicating, whether it is written, oral, or through body language. This workshop presents good communication practices in general, both verbal and written, and then explores the critical basics of communication within a group presentation setting. Organization and preparation are the keys.

Part I: Communication Skills
A practical and straight forward communication model is presented and explored based on:

  • What to say
  • When to say it
  • Who to say it to
  • How to say it (tone and media)

Case studies and live situations are used to expand the material and provide meaningful application of the model. Emphasis is also placed on effectively escalating problems or difficult issues by communicating proactively and early.

Part II. Presentation Skills
The success of any group presentation is significantly impacted by how you create and prepare for the presentation. Even the best presentation skills can’t make up for poorly organized thoughts. Part II of this workshop focuses on how to create effective group presentations. Some of the main topics include: how to summarize the main points, what to include or exclude in slides, and how to effectively prepare for the presentation.
